SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Diane Whaley, effective April 1, 2008, to increase the payment limit by $4,232 to a new payment limit of$29,032 with no change in the term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, to provide consultation services on Medicare and related issues that impact the County's low income population. FISCAL IMPACT: $29,032: 100% State; California Department of Aging BACKGROUND: Ms. Whaley provides consulting services and technical assistance to the County's Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) regarding Medicare prescription drug coverage and related issues.
