ON THE OCCASION OF.ITS 50r" ANNIVERSARY,APRIL 30,20A WHEREAS, Oak Grove Intermediate School opened its doors on October 27, 1958, serving a student population of Seventh and Eighth Graders; and WHEREAS, the first Principal of Oak Grove Intermediate School, Joe i-launer, served from 1958 until his death in 1972; and WHEREAS, the second Principal, Bill Smith, served.,from.. 1972 until his retirement in 1982, when the Board of Education honored Mr. Smith with the Best`;in'District for.Parent Communication'; and WHEREAS, Sandra Buck served.as Principal from 1982 through 1984; and::,., WHEREAS, in 1985, under Principal Mark O'Brien, sixth,graders arrived; prompting the schoolto change its name to Oak.Grove Middle School;:and WHEREAS, from,L986 through::..1.987...:lohti.:Damolian served as Principal;.and.::; WHEREAS, Dr. Audrey Wagman became Principal in 1988, implementing,more. hands-on, active learning projects, and remained until she retired in 2002; and ...........
