HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04012008 - SD.3 i �'TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONTRA FROM: Lori Gentles, Director of Human Resources COSTA i` DATE: April 1, 2008 COUNTY SUBJECT: In the Matter of Amending Resolution No. 2002/6.15 to Provide for General Salary Increases for County Elected and Appointed Department Heads, Management Employees, Exempt Employees and Unrepresentid Employees SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt attached Resolution No. 2008/167 amending Resolution No. 2002/615 that provides for a program of compensation and benefits for County Elected and Appointed Department Heads, Management Employees, Exempt Employees and Unrepresented Employees. FINANCIAL IMPACT: I The estimated cost through the term of the agreement is $354,000. The District's 2007/08 budget is sufficient to absorb the estimated current year impact of $89,500. BACKGROUND: I Effective upon adoption, this Resolution amends Board of Supervisors' Resolution No. 2002/615 only as to employees in Appendix C. This pay'base then will be multiplied by four percent (4%). The product of that calculation will be added to the employee's May 10, 2008 paycheck where it will be listed separately as "Lump Sum Pay." The' "lump sum pay" amount will then be included in the calculation of the employee's.required deductions such as taxes and retirement. The provisions of this Resolution shall apply toli Appendix C and may be amended administratively from time to time as a result of actions such as the addition of new job classes that are subsequently adopted by the Board, classes that are subsequently abolished or retitled, and other classes that may have been inadvertently excluded from Appendix C.
