FOR THE COUNTY-OWNED PREMISES AT 2025 SHERMAN DRIVE, PLEASANT HILL (T00576) (CP# 07-106) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION 1. APPROVE a Revenue Lease with Youth Homes, Inc., for two-years beginning April 1, 2008, and ending March 31, 2010, for approximately 3,440 square feet of a residential home and office space at 2025 Sherman Drive, Pleasant Hill,. for the operation of a children's group home program, at a monthly rent of $2,000, as requested by the Employment and Human Services Department, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in the Revenue Lease. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXECUTE the Lease on behalf of the County. 3. DETERMINE that the project is a Class 1, Section 15301 Categorical Exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 4. DIRECT the Director of Community Development, or designee, to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and DIRECT the Director of General Services, or designee, to arrange for the payment of the handling fees to the Community Development Department and County Clerk for filing of the Notice of Exemption. FINANCIAL IMPACT Approval of this Revenue Lease represents revenue of $46,000 over the two (2) year term of the Lease. Revenue will be credited to the Employment and Human Services Department since all expenditures for the facility are charged to the Employment and Human Services Department. BACKGROUND This County-owned building has been operated for children's group home program in the City of Pleasant Hill since 2000. Execution of the Revenue Lease will provide for the continued operation of a children's group home program administered by Youth Homes, Inc. under a program services contract with the County's Employment and Human Services Department.
