BACKGROUND: The Advocacy Program assists disabled individuals to apply for SSI/SSP. The Psychological Evaluations are used as disability verification and used as evidence to be provided to the Social Security Administration. The Advocacy Program has been successful in supporting General Assistance clients through the original SSI Application, Denial Reconsideration and Hearing Process. The Mental Health Status Evaluations for General Assistance (GA) clients are required to determine if GA clients are fully able to participate and meet GA program requirements. The Substance Abuse Counseling is a program designed to identify and evaluate GA clients who may be addicted to substance abuse and need to be referred for treatment. During the month of January, 2008, Dr. Sargent was asked to provide services to an additional district office. 21-232-7
