HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04012008 - C.48 TO: `- BOARD OF SUPERVISORS J Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D.,Health Services Director By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator _ Costa DATE: March 18, 2008 ouCounty rgl+ SUBJECT: Approval of Agreement#28-700-5 with the California Department of Public Health SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.) to execute on behalf of the County, Agreement #28-700-5 with the California Department of Public Health, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $1,683,182 for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Comprehensive Program, for the period from August 31, 2007 through August 31, 2008. The County is agreeing to indemnify the State for claims arising with respect to intellectual property, which result directly or indirectly from this agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this Agreement will result in $1,683,182 of funding for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Comprehensive Program. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Agreement will provide funding for multiple Public Health Emergency Preparedness activities including, but not limited to, the Centers for Disease Control (CD) preparedness activities, the Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) activities, Pandemic Influenza preparedness and Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) hospital preparedness activities. The goals of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Comprehensive .
