Rupf, Sheriff-Coroner County DATE: March 18, 2008 SUBJECT: APPROVE Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No. � SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No. rogq to authorize new' revenue in the amount of $840,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security 2007 Infrastructure Protection Program — Port Security Grant for the Office of the Sheriff to provide maritime security. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and appropriations by $840,000. BACKGROUND: On September 11, 2007 (Item C.99), the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to apply for and accept this grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 2007 Port Security Grant funding will be used to purchase equipment to further enhance security deterrence capabilities established with the 2006 Port Security Grant.
