FISCAL IMPACT: $150,000 75% Federal, 17.5% State, 7.5% County (All Districts) CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The contracts will support two of the five community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: (1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; (2) "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood", by strengthening the learning skills of children and youth in foster care through tutoring. Approximately 5-14% of tutoring services are court-ordered for children in the Child Welfare System. Foster children and youth not functioning at their grade level and require individual assistance will be evaluated by the tutoring program for inclusion in the program to ensure the need for tutoring services are assessed in an timely manner, ensure tutoring services will be designed to meet the child's or youth's specific academic needs, make referrals to other resources such as mental health in conjunction with the tutoring to address any exacerbating issues to education and learning, and, develop collaborative relationships with community organizations or individuals that provide tutoring services to ensure on-going quality of service, and provide readily available tutoring services.
