SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and autllorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.), to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-309-13 with Medical Doctor Associates, Inc., a corporation, in the amount not to exceed $650,000, to provide temporary physicians and recruitment services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008. FISCAL IMPACT: .Funding for this contract is 100%Enterprise I budget. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) On November 14, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-309-11 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-309-12), with Medical Doctor Associates, Inc., for the period from November 1, 2006 through October 31, 2007, to provide locum tenens physicians to work as temporary employees, to ensure appropriate medical staff coverage for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. Approval of Contract #26-309-13, will allow Contractor to continue providing temporary physician services, including recruitment services through October 31, 2008.
