(All Districts) SPECIFIC REQUES"I-(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICA'I•ION RECOMMENDED ACTION: RECOGNIZE that the Public Works Department and Flood Control and Water Conservation District use the current versions of the appropriate engineering manuals and specifications in the course of their work,as those manuals and specifications are superseded by County ordinance. Further recognize that exceptions in the application of the provisions within the manuals will be made from time to time by the Public Works Director or the Director's designee. Where a choice of standards exists,the Director or designee will determine the applicable standard under the circumstances. BACKGROUND AND REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: The manuals and specifications listed herein are generally accepted in California as standards in the field of civil engineering. By recognizing their use,the Board will reduce public misunderstandings and further the achievement of consistency in improvements plan and construction plan submittal.
