Branson for Transportation Coordination Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Paul S. Branson in an amount not to exceed $52,020 to provide transportation coordination services for the period July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. Branson for Transportation Coordination Services C Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families," by providing transportation services to CaIWORKs recipients. BACKGROUND: Mr. Paul Branson provides Transportation Coordinator services to the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD), Workforce Services Bureau (WFS) and Adult Services Bureau (ASB). His time is spent providing project oversight for three California Work Opportunity and Responsibility for Kids transportation programs: Rides to Success Demand-Response Bus Service (RTS), Children's Transportation Project (CTP), and KEYS Auto Loan Program. In addition, he works in partnership with Aging and Adult Services staff, transportation providers, and other agencies to identify gaps in transportation services to the elderly and disabled adult population. He coordinates with staff for the integration of transportation considerations into EHSD programs, writes grants to secure additional funds for transportation program activities, and compiles reports required by funding organizations. 21-591-9
