BACKGROUND: Random substance abuse testing and Sweat Patch testing are court-required services and are ordered as part of the client service plan. Laboratory results are submitted for inclusion in the Court Hearing(s) on Child Welfare Family Maintenance and Reunification cases. Services include ensuring the availability of specimen collection sites in West, Central, and East regions of the County, screening test specimens using three different laboratory test systems, providing "on-demand" sample testing when requested by the County's Employment and Human Services Social Worker, and providing monthly statistics for clients referred to substance abuse testing. As more clients comply with their court ordered substance abuse testing, the Contractor is providing increased services. The amount of the contract requires an increase in the funding level to pay for court order substance abuse services. 21-144-6
