HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06052007 - C.72 e, W TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS = Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D.,Health Services Director Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator DATE: May 21, 2007 �r u County SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract#74-119-5 with Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch C, SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract#74-119-5 with Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $146,000, to provide residential day treatment and mental health services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children, for the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2008, in an amount not to exceed $73,920. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act(IDEA/SB90). CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This IDEA/SB 90 program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School"; and "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing". The expected outcomes include all goals identified by Children's Statewide System of Care guidelines including increasing and maintaining school attendance as measured by school records; an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS); an increase in family satisfaction - as measured by the Parent Satisfaction Survey; decreased used of acute care system; and placement at discharge to a lower level of care. ABSENT: ABSTAIN: Contact Person: Donna Wigand 957-5111 ATTESTED J U SC g ]OHM CULLEN, CLERK OFT E BOARD OF CC: Health Services Department (Contracts) SUPEMAND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR Auditor Controller Contractor BY Ql/� —, DEPUTY VL Board Order Page 2 #74-119-5 BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides Out-of-State residential intensive day treatment program and mental health services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children, including Special Education Pupils (SEP), for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) required services In November 2006, the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #74-119-2 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreements #74-119-3 and #74-119-4), with Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch for the period from July 14, 2006 through June 30, 2007 (with an automatic extension through December 31, 2007), for the provision of Residential day treatment program and mental health services for mentally or emotionally disturbed children. Approval of Novation Contract #74-119-5 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2008.
