SUBJECT: RELISTED to June 26, 2007 to APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment
and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with
German Martinez, effective June 12, 2007, to extend the term from June 30 to
December 31, 2007 and increase the payment limit by $21,910 to a new payment
limit of $51,124 to provide continuing community engagement services for the
Central County/Monument Corridor area.

SUBJECT: Contract amendment with German Martinez for Central County/Monument
Corridor Area Community Engagement Services.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or
designee, to execute a contract amendment with German Martinez, effective June 12,
2007, to increase the payment limit by $21,910 to a new payment limit of $51,124 and
to extend the term from June 30, 2007 to December 31, 2007 to continue to provide
community engagement services for the Central County/Monument Corridor Area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$51,124: No County Costs; 100% State funds.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all five of the community outcomes established in the Children's
Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children and Youth

through maintaining family stability and fostering child well being.
BACKGROUND:
Under the Children and Family Services Bureau's supervision, the Community
Engagement Specialist (CES) will work to engage families at-risk of entering Children
and Family Services (CFS) system and link them to community-based case
.management services to improve family functioning and overall child wellbeing. The
CES will be responsible for recruiting resource families within the Monument Corridor
Child Welfare Services (CWS) redesign target area.
This contract is for a limited period of time while the Department evaluates the
continuing need for these services to determine how best to provide them. (#21-342-5)
