SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute . a contract with Lao Family Community Development, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $75,504 to provide employment case management services to limited English proficient CalWORKs applicants and recipients for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. FISCAL IMPACT: $75,504: 15% County, 85% Federal CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract directly supports three of the five community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: (3)"Families that are Economically Self-Sufficient"; (4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and, (5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families" by providing skills to increase economic self-sufficiency and build stronger family relationships.
