HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05082007 - C.51 .. ­ __ - I TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS • -` ' �J�'G.��� _ Contra FROM: William Walker,M.D.,Health Services Director -' By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator __ ' ": Costa DATE: April125, 2007 ° County SUBJECT: Correct January 10, 2006 Board Order Item#C.56 with American Red Cross Blood Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: Correct the Board Order which was approved by the Board of Supervisors on January 10, 2006, (C.56) with American Red Cross Blood Services, a non-profit corporation, to reflect the intent of the parties, with no change in the original Payment Limit in an amount not to exceed $500,000,to correct the term from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006 to January 1,2006 through December 31, 2007 for the provision of blood bank/products and services. In accordance with the terms of the.agreement, the County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless American Red Cross Blood Services from claims arising from the County's negligence, in exchange for a similar indemnification and hold harmless inuring to the benefit of the County, which was previously approved by County Risk Management. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this contract is included in the Health Services Department Enterprise I budget. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for services. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On January 10, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-338-7 with American Red Cross Blood Services, for the period from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006 to provide total blood and blood component products and associated services as needed for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center. Due to an administrative oversight, the Board Ordered reflected an incorrect term. The term should have ended on December 31, 2007 instead of December 31, 2006.
