SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20308 to INCREASE hours of Clerk-Experienced Level
(JWXB)position#12903 from 20/40 to 40/40 (Represented).
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total annual cost associated with this action is approximately $27,822 from Land Use Application
Fees (non-General Fund monies).
BACKGROUND:
The Community Development Department is requesting that the hours of position #12903 be increased
from 20/40 to 40/40. The position has been vacant for a period of time due to eligibles from the prior
Clerk eligible list unavailable for part-time work. The increase of hours will allow the department to
now utilize the newly established Clerk eligible list and provide clerical support coverage to
professional staff, typing correspondence and staff reports, answer telephone calls, retrieve files, and
copy/file various documents.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Current Planning Division's professional staff and delivery of services would be impacted by
inadequate clerical support staff.

JUSTIFICATION:
• The Community Development Department is requesting that the hours of position #12903 be
increased from 20/40 to 40/40. The position has been vacant for a period of time due to the
eligibles from the prior Clerk eligible list not available for part-time work. The increase of hours
