amendment with Sycamore Environmental Consultants,Inc. effective May 31,2007 to increase the

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a Contract amendment with
Sycamore Environmental Consultants, Inc. effective May 31, 2007 to increase the payment limit by$30,000 to a
new payment limit of$80,000 and to extend the term from May 31,2007 to June 30,2008 to continue to provide on
call environmental assessment for various projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. This project is funded by Flood Control & Water Conservation
District Funds 48%, Local Road Funds 48%, and Airport Project Funds 4%.

REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
The amendment of the Consulting Services Agreement is needed to assist Public Works Department staff in
obtaining environmental clearances for various projects. The Public Works Department wishes to continue to work
with this firm to maintain consistency on several ongoing projects.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Consulting Services Agreement is not amended various projects will be delayed in obtaining the required
permits causing delays in their construction and/or repair.

All other terms in the Consulting Services Agreement entered into on May 1, 2005 between
the County and the Consultant shall remain in full force and effect.
5. Amendment Payment Limit. Increase the payment limit by $30,000 from $50,000 to the new
total payment limit of$80,000.
6. Extension of Term. The term of the above-described Contract between the parties hereto is
hereby extended from May 31, 2007 to June 30, 2008, unless sooner terminated as provided in
said contract.
