BACKGROUND: , The Health Services Department is requesting the addition of the Home Economist position due to the fact that the WIC program is now required to have a Home Economist position that is dedicated to providing lactation related services to the clients of the WIC Program. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved, the Public Health Division will not be able to effectively provide much needed nutrition related services to the residents of Contra Costa County.
