Resources, LLC, dba MedSources Consultants SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services 'Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #74-086-9 with S. P. Resources, LLC, dba MedSources Consultants, a Limited Liability Company, in an amount not to exceed $92,880, to provide temporary physician services for County's child and adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, for the period from March 1, 2007 through June 30,2007. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100%by Mental Health Realignment. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcome: "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): For many years,.the County has contracted with registries to provide temporary qualified physicians to assist the Department during peak workloads, temporary absences and emergency situations. Many of County's most severely disturbed youth have been without an assigned psychiatrist in East County since July because of two psychiatrists leaving, and there are a large number of very disturbed clients taking medications who are not being monitored. Under Contract #74-086-9, the Contractor will provide temporary help psychiatrists for County's Child and Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, to cover vacation, sick leave and extended leave relief for County-employed psychiatrists, through June 30, 2007.
