HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04032007 - C.67 L 7`O: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ��` ` ' - �� Contra FROM: LORI GENTLES- Assistant County Administrator- ,,,� _ .z Costa Director of Human Resources o DATE: April 3, 2007 County SUBJECT: P300 #20261- Department of Information Technology SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20261 ADDING one Information Systems Programmer/Analyst I (Unrepresented)in the Department Of Information Technology.` FISCAL IMPACT: This action will result in an annual cost of$83,825 which is included in DoIT's Budget and costs will be recovered through user fees. This action will result in no net County cost. BACKGROUND: The Department of Information Technology is in the process of converting their legacy application from a mainframe environment to a web/server platform. The new platform will support many departmental web applications including the Tax Collector's, which brings in $8million to$10million dollars in fees for the County via the web.There is currently not enough staff to spend the adequate amount of time necessary for this1hree to five year project to be implemented successfully. Staff reviewed the duties needed and determined that an additional Information Systems Programmer/Analyst I is the best classification for the required duties. The duties that will be performed by this position will include maintaining and developing the Tax Payment application on the web and other Microsoft Access applications, coding specifications given to them by senior analyst, providing web-based IT support to the Assessor, Tax Collector,Auditor-Controller, and Building Inspection, and contributing to IT team projects. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved, the Department will continue to be understaffed and will result in a decrease of service t ounty departments.
