FINANCIAL IMPACT None. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT This action will affect all five of the Outcome Indicators: 1) Children ready for and succeeding in school; 2) Children and youth healthy and preparing for productive adulthood; 3) Families that are economically self-sufficient; 4) Families that are safe, stable and nurturing; and 5) Communities that are safe and provide a high quality of life. BACKGROUND May is designated as Foster Parent Appreciation Month. Every year, the Board of Supervisors is requested to adopt a Resolution honoring Contra Costa's foster parents with updated information on how many citizens serve in this vital role to the children who are in need of out-of-home placement in our communities. In addition, every year in May, our department hosts a luncheon to honor our foster parents both in recognition of and thankful appreciation for their service.
