RESCIND the Board of Supervisors approval of Item C.2 on March 13,2007 approving the conveyance of Contra Costa County(County) interest in real property to the City of Pittsburg(City). 2. APPROVE the conveyance of County interest in real property to the City pursuant to Streets and Highway Code§ 960 and AUTHORIZE the Chair,Board of Supervisors,to execute the Quitclaim Deed to the City on behalf of the County. 3. DIRECT the Real Property Division to deliver said Quitclaim Deed to the City for acceptance and recordation. Reason for Recommendation and Background The Board of Supervisors approved the conveyance of County interest of Real Property to the City,Item C.2 on March 13, 2007. Staff realized that the legal description of the real property being conveyed to the City did not include easement areas. Staff has.now revised the legal description to include the easement areas which are part of the real property being conveyed to the City. Contra Costa County acquired certain real property as part of the widening of the State Route 4 East Railroad to Loveridge prof ect for highway purposes. The real property being conveyed are now improved as city streets and right of way. These excess road right of way are no longer required for the County's current or future use. Consequences of Negative Action: The County would own and be liable for portions of property within the City of Pittsburg.
