SUBJECT: Approval of Contract#26-306-10 with Per Diem Staffing Systems, Inc.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.)to execute on
behalf of the County, Contract #26-306-10 with Per Diem Staffing Systems, Inc., a corporation, in an
amount not to exceed $120,000, to provide temporary respiratory therapist services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from February 1, 2007
through January 31, 2008.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is 100% funded by the Health Services Department's Enterprise I budget.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
On February 28, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-306-9 with Per Diem
Staffing Systems, Inc., for the period from February 1, 2006 through January 31, 2007, for the
provision of temporary respiratory therapist services to cover employee sick leaves and workers
compensation leaves, at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
Approval of Contract #26-306-10 will allow the Contractor to continue providing temporary
respiratory therapist services through January 31, 2008.
