SUBJECT: APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE AMENDMENT TO LONG-TERM LEASE WITH THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, PACHECO AREA(DISTRICT IV)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Airports, or designee, to EXECUTE, on behalf of the
County,a lease amendment between the County, as landlord, and the Federal Aviation Administration,as
tenant, to install power and control conduit infrastructure for Runway I L end indicator lights.
II. Financial Impact:
There is no negative impact on the General Fund.

III. Background and Reasons for Recommendations:
The lease amendment between Contra Costa County and the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA)will
amend that portion of the original lease,dated July 18, 1995,between the County and FAA by deleting and
replacing a section of the legal description of the leased premises. This lease amendment is necessary in
order for the FAA to install power and control conduit infrastructure for Runway 1L end indicator lights.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The FAA will not have an interest in the leased premises necessary to maintain the Runway 1 L end indicator
lights.

THIS AGREEMENT IS ENTERED INTO PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF 49 USC 40110(B).
Description of Modification/Supplement
Third Paragraph of the Legal Description on Page 2 is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the
following:
Buchanan Field REIL 1 L
Four parcels on Buchanan Field
Two parcels of land (REIL Aiming pad) approximately 5' x 5' each for a total of 50 square feet. Each parcel
being 150' from the centerline of Runway 1L on both sides as depicted on Drawing No. WP-D-210-
XXXXX-001, marked as Exhibit"A", which attached and made a part of this lease.
One parcel of land (REIL CC Station pad) approximately 10' x 10' (100 square feet). Parcel being 405' from
the centerline of Runway 1L as depicted on Drawing No. WP-D-210-XXXXX-001.
One parcel of land (Handhold) approximately 10' x 10' (100 square feet). Parcel being roughly 480' from
the centerline of Runway 1L as depicted on Drawing No. WP-D-210-XXXXX-001.
Installation of power and control conduit infrastructure between all four parcels. Power and control layout as
depicted on Drawing No. WP-D-210-XXXXX-001.
ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE LEASE ARE HEREBY RATIFIED AND EXCEPTED AS AMENDED HEREIN ABOVE,SHALL BE
AND REMAIN THE SAME.
