Director of Human Resources �•, �� ^�a. y ..,Y "4 County DATE: MARCH 6, 2007 SUBJECT: P300 #20217A-Building Inspection SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution #20217A AMENDING Position Adjustment #20217 to CORRECT the effective date of the action. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $12,712. This position is 100% funded by permit fees. The cost of this action has already been calculated in P300 #20217. BACKGROUND: This P300 originally went before the board on February 6, 2007; however, the effective date for this action was incorrect and should be changed to January 1, 2007. The Department requests the reallocation of the Principal Building Inspector classification due to the 5% salary increase given to represented staff in the Building and Grading Inspector series and the Building Plan Checker series during labor negotiations. The increase has resulted in compaction. Currently, the classifications of Senior Building Inspector and Principal Building Inspector are only separated by 1.1%. With the reallocation of Principal Building Inspector, the salary gap between the respective classifications will return to 5.0%.
