SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement#24-979-12
with Addiction Research and Treatment,Inc. dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Haven Fearn) to execute on
behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-979-12 with Addiction Research and
Treatment, Inc. dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, a corporation, effective February
1, 2007, to amend Contract #24-979-11, to increase the payment limit by $65,455, from
$2,700,000 to a new payment limit of$2,765,455, with no change in the original term of July 1,
2006 through June 30, 2007.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 49% by Federal Drug Medi-Cal, 49% by State Drug Medi-Cal, and 2%
by Proposition 36-Offender Treatment Program (OTP). No County Funds are required.
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
On June 6, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-979-11 with Addiction
Research and Treatment, Inc. dba Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, for the period from
July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, for the provision of methadone treatment services through its
Methadone Maintenance Clinics Program (Medi-Cal Drug Abuse Treatment Services) in East and
West County.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-979-12 will allow the Contractor to provide
additional services, including Prop 36 - OTP residential treatment services, through June 30,
2007.
