SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution # 20226 canceling one (1)
Child Nutrition Division Nutritionist position (Unrepresented) and adding one (1) Family
& Children's Services Family Advocacy Manager position (Unrepresented).
FISCAL IMPACT: The total annual cost associated with this action is $720. However,
since these positions are 100% state and federally funded, there are no net County
general fund costs associated with these actions.
BACKGROUND: According to the Head Start Performance Standards mandated by the
federal government, Child Nutritionist positions are not required. Therefore, the
department no longer needs this position. However, an additional Family Advocacy
Manager position, which oversees and monitors Community Services Bureau activities
to ensure compliance with federal and state performance standards, is needed.

SUBJECT: Position Adjustment Resolution # 20226
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the Community
Services Bureau will remain understaffed in the Family Advocacy Manager
classification, which compromises the coordination of health services to Head Start
children. As such, the possibility of the Community Services Bureau falling out of
compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards increases exponentially. If this
happens, federal and state grants stand in jeopardy of being revoked.
