FUNDING FOR VETERANS' HALL NEEDS
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
SUPPORT federal action to seek support for vetera halls capital needs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
If successful, the County could receive proximately $135,000 in federal funds for veterans' hall
projects.
BACKGROUND:
Staff in the GeneraServic s Department has compiled a list of 39 prioritized projects for building
improvements that cost ver $644,000 (the County owns 11 Veterans Memorial buildings). A
substantial number o he projects indicate a need for additional ADA improvements that must be
better defined an stimated through a comprehensive ADA study. (No cost estimates are available
/ee
ovements as yet.) As veterans continue to age, accessing and using these buildings
ore critical, and ADA compliance must be addressed.
