RECOMMENDATION:
RE-APPOINT David Del Simone to the Board of Trustees of the Law Library to a one-year
term ending December 31, 2007.
BACKGROUND:
The Law Library Board of Trustees was established pursuant to State law and County
Ordinance to maintain a law library in Martinez and a branch library in Richmond. The
Internal Operations Committee annually reviews the appointment to the Member of the Bar
seat, which term expires each December 31.
The Internal Operations Committee approved the nomination of Mr. Del Simone at its January
29, 2007 meeting and recommends to the Board his re-appointment. Although the Law
Library's letter, attached, also requests re-appointment of Mark Armstrong, the Board already
re-appointed Mr. Armstrong to the Law Library Board of Trustees as part of the annual Board
committee assignments made at the January 9, 2007 Reorganization Meeting. No further
action is necessary.

Both David Del Simone, Esq. and Mark Armstrong, Esq. wish to be reappointed to the
Law Library Board of Trustees.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SERVE ON THE COUNTY'S PUBLIC LAW LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD?
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is seeking individuals who are interested in serving on the
Contra Costa County Public Law Library's Board of Trustees as an additional Trustee. By statute this
person must be a member of the State Bar. The Board of Trustees is the governing body for the Law
Library with the authority to determine personnel, fiscal, and administrative policies to fulfill the legal
information need of the community.
Regular meetings of the Law Library Board of Trustee's are held in Martinez at noon on the last Thursday
of each month. No stipend or mileage expense is received. The new appointment will be for a one year
term January 1,2007 to December 31,2007.
