SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement#27-655-1 with Jasbir K. Rana, M.D. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Richard Harrison) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #27-655-1 with Jasbir K. Rana, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective March 1, 2007 to amend Contract #27-655, to increase the Contract payment limit by$25,000, from $25,000 to a new total of$50,000, with no change in the original term, from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by 100% Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): In February 2007, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager. executed Contract #27-655, for the period from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007, to provide professional pediatric services for Contra Costa Health Plan members. The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #27-655-1, will allow the Contractor to continue to provide additional pediatric services due to an increase in volume of patients, through December 31, 2007.
