(unrepresented) position # 8647 and ADD one full-time Clerical Supervisor (represented) position for the Richmond Health Clinic. FISCAL IMPACT: There-is no cost associated with this action as the cancellation of the Medical Records Administrator position creates an estimated $9600 annual savings based on a salary only at step 1. BACKGROUND: The Health Services Department is requesting to cancel one Medical Records Administrator position and add one Clerical Supervisor position for the Richmond Health Clinic. The Health Services Medical Records unit has been unable to fill the vacant position of Medical Records Administrator. Recruitment for the vacant position has produced few interested candidates with the required certification from the American Health Information Management Association. In the past, the Richmond Medical Records Unit continued operation with the assistance of a Clerical Supervisor who performed various duties of the Medical Records Administrator to include supervision of the medical records staff at the County Health Clinic. The additional full-time position will establish stability within the unit and ensure the timely response to medical records request and records maintenance. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should this request not be granted, The Richmond Health Clinic will continue its operation under the supervision of a clerical supervisor with divided responsibilities.
