SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution #20082 to INCREASE hours of four Registered Nurses
(represented) position numbers 8077, 7535, 12432, and 9504.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual cost increase for these actions — $112,581.64 -is the cost associated with the salaries
and increased benefits.
BACKGROUND:
The hours of these positions are being increased in accordance with the agreement between the
County and the California Nurses Association.
The four Registered Nurses all work in units heavily impacted by increased patient flow, and/or in the
case of Detention in hard to staff work areas.
The Department has agreed that the workloads of the positions are sufficient enough to warrant the
increase in hours.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should this request not be granted, The County will be out of compliance with the California Nurses
Association agreement.

Increase hours in accordance with the MOU between the County and the California Nurses Association for Registered
Nurses who have worked extra hours at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, Pittsburg Health Center (0540), and
Martinez Detention Facility (0301)at the request of their Nursing Managers over the past six months.
