CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMF,NT• This contract supports two of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; and 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing." This is accomplished through assisting program participants achieve self-sufficiency. BACKGROUND: Following a competitive procurement, Request for Proposal (RFP) #1061, contracts were awarded to Rubicon Programs, Inc., and Contra Costa ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) to provide Supported Work for Ca1WORKs Participants with Learning Disabilities. The Supported Work Services Program is half of an overarching program initiating more in-depth State mandated services to Ca1WORKs clients who have been assessed as possibly suffering from learning difficulties. Rubicon and ARC provide multilingual and culturally sensitive case management,job placements and retention services geared toward individuals with learning disabilities and need additional support to become self-sufficient through unsubsidized employment.
