RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer Flood Control and Water Conservation District,or designee,on
behalf of the Contra Costa Clean Water Program,to execute a contract amendment with the Urban Creeks Council
effective June 6,2006 to increase the payment limit by$8,000 to a new payment limit of$33,000 for the Streamside
Management Program for Private Landowners, Countywide (Cities and County Stormwater Utility Fee
Assessments) (All Districts)Project No. 7519 6x7173

FISCAL IMPACT:
The increased cost is estimated to be$8,000;and,shall be funded by stormwater utility fee assessments collected by
the cities and county proportioned to their respective populations.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION AND BACKGROUND:
The Urban Creek Council works with private landowners to mitigate flooding and improve the stability of creeks.
The tremendous storm events at the end of 2005 and the spring of 2006 caused an unusually high number of requests
for help. The Urban Creeks Council worked with many homeowners in the Danville area in mitigating storm events.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the consulting services agreement amendment with the Urban Creeks Council is not approved,the Urban Creeks
Council, a non-profit organization, will not be paid proportionately for services rendered.
