On December 26, 2005 my three year old grand-daughter told of the sexual molestation at the hands of her father. We called the police and made a report. We reported it to the Child Protective Services, where my grand-daughter was interviewed. You sent someone (a detective) from your office to observe and determine whether there was cause for criminal action-at which time he decided not to do so, so the case was -dropped. I just could not believe it! After talking with the CPS worker, her professional opinion was that my grand-daughter was molested at the hands of her father. We went to court and got a restraining order to protect her. We were sent to a mediator, where the father refused to answer any questions on the grounds that it would have incriminated himself. We put my grand-daughter in therapy (court approved therapist) , where the therapist confirmed that the molestation did happen. she has been going every week since it happened. My grand-daughters court appointed attorney, and the fathers attorney, both viewed the CPS audio/video. It must have been pretty disturbing, because my daughter was told she would be wise, emotionally, not to view it. So they (attorneys') know the molestation took place, too. As the fathers punishment, they (the two attorneys) want him to get some therapy, then eventually, reunite them as though nothing ever happened. They want to keep it out of Family Court. . . .WHY? I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT! It is no J.ObL <cc0@contra,napanet. I may trim all the trees around my house but having experienced huge fire storms around Claremont as a kid, I know there is no protection from the blowing embers from close by forest. I an frankly scared at the thought of what promises to be a terrible fire season coming up, with a guaranteed slower response than this area would get from local fire depts. You can work the payment system out, as the grand jury report says, but you are playing with the lives of some of Richmond and El Sobrante' s most productive citizens and putting a large amount of the County' s higher propert tax revenues in jeopardybythis decision_ Please work to reinstate the Automatic Aid agreement!
