Contract planning services are used for specialized projects such as developing and monitoring the Alcoholic Beverage Sales Ordinance or for more complex land use projects. It is not possible to utilize permanent staff for these types of projects due to the existing workloads of 35-40 applications per planner,. These contract planning services are essentially retainer contracts which allow us to call on persons with specialized skills and knowledge las needed to review and process special types of land use applications.
