Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute
on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement # 74-034-8 with We Care Services for
Children, a non-profit corporation, effective June 1, 2006, to amend Novation Contract#74-034-7, to
increase the payment limit by $9,000, from $50,900 to a new payment limit of$59,900, with no
change in the original term of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, and no change in the automatic
extension through December 31, 2006, in an amount not to exceed S25,450.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is 100% funded i by the State CalWORKs through the Employment and Human
Services Department.

BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):
On January 10, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract # 74-034-7 with We
Care Services for Children, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006 (with a six-
month automatic extension through December 31, 2006), for the provision of mental health
services to recipients of the CalWORKs Program and their children, including individual, group
and family collateral counseling, case management, and medication management services, to reduce
barriers to employment. I
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-034-8 will allow the Contractor to provide
additional services to recipients of the CalWORKs Program and their children, through June 30,
2006.

On January 24, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract # 74-035-7 with
Early Childhood Mental Health Program, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006
(with asix-month automatic extension through December 31, 2006), for the provision of mental
health services to recipients of the CalWORKs Program and their children, including individual,
group and family collateral counseling, case management, and medication management services,
to reduce barriers to employment.
