Costa Administrator, Director of Human Resources 4� rzCounty DATE: May 9, 2006 Cou SUBJECT: Position Adjustment Resolution # 20065 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION : Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution # 20065 adding four (4) Family & Children's Services Intermediate Clerk - Project positions, and canceling one (1) Family & Children's Services Site Supervisor I — Project position, one (1) Family & Children's Services Teacher— Project position, one (1) Family & Children's Services Infant/Toddler Teacher - Project position, and one (1) Family & Children's Services Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher— Project position. FISCAL IMPACT : Since these positions are 100% state and federally funded, there are no net County general fund costs associated with these actions. BACKGROUND : The Community Services Department, as a result of several organizational changes within the last 6 months, has discovered a greater need for additional clerical support. Additionally, there are more teacher positions budgeted than what is required to maintain the appropriate level of staffing, while still addressing the needs of the Community Services Department. RESULT OF NEGATIVE ACTION : If this action is not approved, the Family & Children's Services Division of the Community Services Department will continue to be inappropriately staffed. There will not be sufficient clerical support in the division. This could potentially have an adverse effect on the 2500 infants and young children and low-income families served by this division.
