SUBJECT: Position Adjustment Resolution # 20061
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION : Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution # 20061 adding one (1) Family &
Children's Services Assistant Family Advocacy Manager— Project position, and canceling one (1)
Family & Children's Services Site Supervisor I — Project position.
FISCAL IMPACT : Since these positions are 100% state and federally funded, there are no net
County general fund costs associated with these actions.
BACKGROUND : The Community Services Department requires a FACS Assistant Family
Advocacy Manager to run the One Stop Career Centers and the school readiness program, which
assist individuals in employment and 'educational endeavors.
Due to the closure of one of the One Stop Career Centers, there is no longer a need for a FACS Site
Supervisor I — Project that was previously occupied by that center. Therefore, the department is
requesting to cancel FACS Site Supervisor I — Project position #1195.
RESULT OF NEGATIVE ACTION : If this action is not approved, the One Stop Career Centers and
school readiness program will continue to be inappropriately staffed, which would be a disservice to
the many individuals who are served by these programs. Additionally, the continued existence of this
unneeded classification of Site Supervisor in these programs will lead to increased inefficiency within
the Community Services Department'due to the potential of duplication of duties and general
disorganization.
