San Ramon Creek Restoration Project. San Ramon area. District III DATE: May 9, 2006 k PAGE: 2 Financial Impact: None. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: A section of the San Ramon Creek's bank is in need of restoration.As part of restructuring the creek banks, willow branches will need to be harvested from local growths and planted in the creek bank.Mr.Wright and BAS ;of Tassajara U's properties are located along the west branch of the Alamo Creek and contain large growths of willow trees. They have agreed to allow the District to use their properties to harvest cuttings from; these willow trees. Environmental clearance has been obtained through document # CP-04-28, approved by the Board on 4/19/051, and posted 4/20/06 as a Categorical Exemption 15304. Conseauences of Negative Action: i The project will not have sufficient willow tree cuttings to provide creek bank support in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. r TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION PERMIT Contra Costa County Project Name:San Ramon Creek Restoration Flood Control & Water Conservation District Project Number: 7520-6139317-04 Real Property Division 255 Glacier Drive Martinez, CA 94553 Permission is hereby granted to Contra Costa County Flood Control&Water Conservation District, its contractors and their authorized agents, to enter and bring the necessary workers; tools and equipment on the property of the undersigned, as shown on the attached map attached hereto for the purpose of harvesting willow cuttings. The District will access the harvest site through the existing bicycle/pedestrian path along the 'south side of the creek. Willow cuttings will be taken at random from only healthy trees. No more than Fifty (50) percent of the trees in the property shall be cut, and no more than twenty-five (25) percent will bel harvested from each tree's canopy. It is understood and agreed that the District will leave the premises in a clean and orderly condition and will repair, replace, or compensate for any existing improvements that may have been disturbed or removed during the course of the work. It is,further understood and agreed that permission to do the work and perform the acts stated herein shall remain in force and effect from August 14, 2006 to October 1, 2006 or until the completion of construction and that all rights hereunder shall cease when said work has been completed.
