Contra ,-.,a : _ z Costa FROM: Danna Fabella, Interim Director ' County Employment and Human Servic s Department DATE: May 17, 2006 SUBJECT: APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment for Employment and Human Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: Employmen nd Human Services ): APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment and Revenue Adjustment No. OZ-- authorizing $100,000 transferred from EHSD State Realignment Growth Funds to Plant Acquisition to fund the balance owing on a capital project. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The financial impact of this Board Order recognizes additional state realignment growth revenue into the Employment and Human Services budget and appropriated to Plant Acquisition for increased expenditure and revenue levels in the FY 2005-2006 budget. The appropriation adjustment is possible because of increased state realignment growth funding allocated above the budgeted current year amount in the Employment and Human Services Budget. The funding increases the Department's ability to finance capital projects this FY 2005-2006 or for completion in the following FY 2006-2007. This action is supported by 100% state funds. There are no additional county general funds required. BACKGROUND: Funds will be used to pay the balance on the 1305 Macdonald Avenue building capital remodeling and improvement project in Richmond. These funds will pay off a balance owing for improvements to the building not covered by bond funding. No budgeted general funds are required. Increased realignment revenues are provided by the state for caseload growth that was identified and in prior years and recently paid to the Department earlier this year.. CONSEQUENCES OE NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the contractors will not be paid or other county funds will be required to pay for this capital project unnecessarily depriving Contra Costa County citizens of services.
