We previously witnessed the effects of this service being eliminated and it was clear that robberies , and burglaries increased 3 fold. The residents of the area need the deputy services and I feel very strongly that if the county budget is not able to cover these costs, then the homeowners of Rodeo should be asked to pay for this service. I think we really need to do something quickly. Thank you Barbara Ornelas i <ccO@contra.napanet. I just found out we no longer have a resident deputy as of 3/5/06, which is a scary. situation knowing that crime will increase. We moved to Rodeo about two years ago because we felt very safe in this community but now I wonder if we will 'continue to feel this way. Please bring back the resident deputy so that all citizens of Rodeo get adequate and equal police protection. I <ccOftontra.napanet. The budget for these services was cut last year resulting in substandard service delivery. I am concerned that any more cuts will result in children being put on a waiting list to receive services and that this will harm them. Not getting therapy will result in many of these children getting contractures to their hands, arms, legs and feet. The result of this can be that many will not learn to walk, feed themselves, learn how to chew or be able to use their hands. Delaying therapy services will hamper their abilities to become independent and they will need increased medical care throughout their lives. Not your problem? I believe that any cut to California Children's Services will impact services to the kids, and that this is inhumane. Please don't do it. I I i I <cc0fcontra.napanet. II am a 55-year-old single man. I used my life savings for the down payment to buy a house in Pittburg five years ago. I have struggled for the last few years to pay my mortgage, house bills and property tax. I work two jobs in ,San Francisco, photo editor of two neighborhood newspapers and as a SF taxi driver. I also have a minor heart condition which I am on medication for. On the morning of March 17, 2006 the Pittsburg Police Narcotics Division raided Ty house. I awoken after hearing loud thundering sounds. I ran to the front door and found about a dozen police officers at my door smashing it in. They told me they had a search warrant, pushed me on the floor and handcuffed me. They banged in my roommate's door and arrested him. They then made me takemy dogs outside and proceeded to ransack my house. + I have never been arrested. My roommate has never been arrested. What were they looking for? The search warrant, which they finally showed me when they left my home, says they were searching for methamphetamine and any I araphernalia related to it. While I waited outside an officer told me to "tell them where the stuff is hidden, and they wouldn't mess up my place that much. " I told him that there is nothing in my house. After a few hours they left my house and warned me before I reenter that the place is different than the way it was. That was an understatement. My whole house was trashed. Everything in my bedroom was thrown either on the floor or on my bed - my bank books, cameras, magazines, CDs, photographs, negatives, DVDs, driver's license, business cards, etc. It took me twelve hours just to clean off my bed and put things where they belonged. Every room in the house was like this. The furniture was overturned in the living room. All the food was thrown all over lin the kitchen. I am a taxpayer in this city. Why did this happen to me? I was told that while I am at work in the city my roommate was having too many friends over the house. There were too many cars coming to my.house. What did they find 'during the search? Absolutely nothing! At least not what they were looking ;for. They did find some old brass knuckles that my roommate's uncle gave him sten years ago as a joke. They did not arrest him. They detained him for five days trying to get him to give them information about drug dealers which he i I did not have. Is this the way the Pittsburg Police conducts business? I am the home owner. They did not even know who I was when they arrived at my house. My whole house in a complete mess. I still cannot find many items. I have doors broken, a window broken and am still cleaning up after a week. I still have to pay my property tax next month. I do not have extra money to make all the repairs the police did to my house. I feel violated. I am upset. I did not deserve this. Iiam angry and no longer have any respect for the police in this town. I Philip Liborio Gangi 136 Sierra Drive Pittsburg, California 94565 GangiPLG@aol.com I I I I I j I I I I I I 4 I
