IN THE MATTER OF RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO. 2006/150
THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF EDWARD WOODARD
ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
FROM CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
WHEREAS, Ed Woodard began his career with Contra Costa County in May, 1975 as a Junior Draftsman
in the Mapping Section of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, Ed was promoted to Senior Draftsman within a year and held various positions from 1975
through 1985 within the Public Works Departments; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Departm_ ent:was-created,by the Board of Supervisors October 1, 1985;
and
WHEREAS, Ed transferred,to the General Services Departinent as an Assistant Architectural Engineer;
and
WHEREAS, Ed was profnoted.fo Associate Capital Facilities Pioject Manager within the General Services
on Jaruiaty 1,2000; and.- ,r......

WHEREAS, Ed has,used his strong technical skills and knowledge-inthe area s'of planning, executing and

managmg community and county projects; developing building and; emodeling projects; managing
orgamzauon,-productivity,, communication and customer s rvice, avliichEHas allowed the General
Services„ Department .to' pxovi8e -high -quahty; responsive, cost-effecttve service to County
D;eparttnehts and`t-o the P ubhc;.and: '

WHEREAS, Edahas performed his work for.the, General Services Department and the County with a
personal cotninitinenf to integrity, professionalism and excellence over the past 31-years; and

WHEREAS, Ed Chas earned the respect and adt iration of the;many people he•'has worked with by
providing lelderslup, thoughtful gudance; acid)the, demonstrated abil_4 totfind solutions, work
creatively;and ascribe to a high level of professioinal.ethics', and
WHEREAS, Ed will'now, be able='to devote himself fulltime Hto hobbies, ch as traveling, fishing, air

WHEREAS, Ed has earned the privilege of rettruig:ao-pursue personal interests;
IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED THAT Ed Woodard be recognized for over 31 years of service
to Contra Costa County and for the high quality of leadership and commitment exhibited during
his career.
