SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Redevelopment Director to execute a contract with Carter
Burgess in the amount of $100,100 to provide consultant services for the North Richmond
Truck Route Planning Program for the period April 4, 2006 to June 30, 2007.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Consultant shall submit demands for payment and will include a summary of work performed,
tasks completed and appropriate back-up material. Services will be provided on a fixed basis
and will not exceed $100,100. The Agency has budgeted sufficient funds to cover such costs.
No general fund monies will be used for this contract. The primary source of funds is a state
grant in the amount of $100,100.
BACKGROUND:
A consultant team led by Carter Burgess will provide transportation and planning services to
evaluate and recommend an alternative route(s) for big-rig trucks traveling to and from the
North Richmond Community. The analysis will involve date collection, education, community
outreach, facilitation, infrastructure/utility analysis, environmental review, noise, relocation
requirements, engineering, design, cost estimates and writteneports.
