Costa Director of Human Resources` County DATE: April 25, 2006 srq SOUK SUBJECT: P300 #19992-Health Services co SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 19992, establishing the classification of Accidental Release Prevention Engineer-Entry level and adding one position. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $100,000. There will be no general funds associated with this action. Funding-for this action will come through fee collections and the cancellation of a contract employee BACKGROUND: The Department requests the establishment of this entry level position in order to recruit good candidates that may not meet the minimum requirements at the journey level. The Department . would like to use this classification to train and groom individuals on safety maagement activities specific to Contra Costa County with the goal of having them eventually function at the journey level. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The consequence of negative) action will result in Department's inability to effectively recruit and retain individuals at the entry and journey level classifications.
