FINANCIAL IMPACT This action provides appropriations in the amount of $12,188 from accumulated depreciation for vehicle improvements. BACKGROUND The Hazardous Materials Program of the Health Services Department sold a piece of equipment in FY04/05 but did not use the accumulated depreciation at that time. The accumulated depreciation is now being appropriated to upgrade] he stake bed to a crane service body on an existing vehicle. The upgrade will allow increased storage capacity and improve the service capability of the vehicle. Sawyer, Director, -Hazardous Materials Programs Date: March 10, 2006 Re: Vehicle 6131 service body Contra Costa Health Services—Hazardous Materials Programs would like to upgrade the vehicle body on vehicle 61131 from a stake body to a crane service body. This vehicle upgrade is requested to increase the storage capacity on this vehicle. Vehicle 6131, a 1992 Ford F-350, has 41,2100 miles on the chassis and does not warrant replacement at this time. Our department has received the following price quotes for this crane service body; body removal was not part of this original bid: Diamond Truck Body, Prree Quote 5600, $12,187.80 Western Truck Fab, Price Quote 22737, $12,200.80 North Bay Truck Body, RoIbert Diaz did not return price quote Due to substandard workmanship by Western Truck.Fab on vehicle 6868, our department would like to proceed with this body conversion with Diamond Truck Body. John Cooper from Diamond Truck Body, 1908 E. Fremont St. Stockton, CA, 95205, phone (800) 308-8782, inspected vehicle 6131 on March 10, 2006 and can provide a more detailed price quote on request. Our department can deliver this vehicle to Diamond Truck Body. We would like to apply the accumulated vehicle depreciation from vehicle 9716 and 5941 for this modification using org #5875.
