HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04252006 - C.10 (2) i C . itio i TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS '- Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Costa By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator DATE: April 12, 2006 J County SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Agreement#74-208-4 with the State Department of Mental Health I SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement#74-208-4 with the State Department of Mental Health, a government agency, in an amount not to exceed $1,046,119, for the purchase and usage of state hospital beds, for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. The County is agreeing to indemnify and hold the State harmless for claims arising out of the County's performance under the Contract. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100%by Mental Health Realignment. No cost to County. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): In previous years, the agreement to purchase State hospital beds was a part of the Mandated County Performance Contract, as required by Section 5650 of the Welfare and Institution Code. Since Fiscal Year 2002/2003, the purchase of state hospital beds has been separated from the Performance Contract, making it a stand-alone agreement. On January 18, 2005, the Bogard of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #74-208-2 with the State Department of Mental Health, for the period from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, for the purchase and usage of state hospital beds. Approval of Standard Agreement 474-208-4 will allow County to continue to compensate the State and the State agrees to provide bed usage, including staffing, facilities, equipment, and supplies through June 30, 2006. Seven seal/certified copies of the Board Order should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State Department of Mental Health. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this Amendment is 100% Federal McKinney-Vento Funds, through a Housing and Urban Development(HUD) Supportive Housing Program Grant. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) On January 24, 2006, the Board it f Supervisors approved Contract 425-062 with Kimberly Baello to provide consultation and technical assistance with regard to the Homeless Management Information System, for the period from January 1,2006 through December 31,2007. Due to an administrative oversight, provisions to reimburse Contractor for actual allowable expenses incurred while traveling on behalf of County was omitted from the initial Contract. It was the intent of the County that the Contractor beJreimbursed for these expenses,therefore this amendment will increase the Payment Limit and modify the Payment Provisions to add language to reimburse Contractor for miscellaneous allowable expenses. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #25-062-1, will allow Contractor to provide additional services including traveling on behalf of the County,through December 31,2007.
