Declare the vacancies on the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County and direct the Clerk of the Board to apply the Board's policy for filling these vacancies. FINANCIAL IMPACT* No County costs. The local Workforce Development Board is mandated by the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). The costs of advertisement for new appointees will be funded through WIA funds. BACKGROUND* The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County was informed by Ms. Lisa Gallup, a Business Representative(Seat#6) of her resignation by public announcement at the Board meeting of July 2005. The resignation was submitted in accordance with Section 117 (b)(2)(A)(i)of the federal WIA of 1998. The Workforce Development Board works,with a broad range of business, education, labor,public agencies and community-based organizations to recruit ighly qualified nominees for appointment to the Board.
