(dba Key Temps) SPECIFIC.REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Ratify purchase of services from KG1. Inc. (dba Key Temps), for the period from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005, and authorize the County Auditor-Controller to pay the $2,436.38 outstanding balance for temporary Registered Dental Assistant services for Contra Costa Regional Medical.Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I. Cost to the County depended upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors were billed for services. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMM.E,NDATIONN: On November 30, 2004, the.Board Of Supervisors approved Contract#26-213-16 with KGI Inc. (dba Key Temps) for the period from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005, for the provision of temporary Registered Dental Assistant services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, during staff absences and vacancies, in all amount not to exceed $60,000. Services were requested and provided beyond the payment limit and by the end of December 31, 2005, charges of$62,436.38 had been incurred, of which $60,000 had been paid and $2,436.38 remains outstanding. Due to an administrative oversight by both the County and Contractor, Contract 426-213-16 with KGI Inc. (dba Key Temps) inadvertently expired on December 31, 2005, without the processing of a formal amendment document to increase the payment limit, to cover the services rendered by the Contractor. Services were requested by County staff and provided by the Contractor in good faith. Therefore, the Department is requesting that the amount due to the Contractor be paid. This can be accomplished by the Board of Supervisors ratifying tine actions of the County employees in obtaining temporary Registered Dental Assistant services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center- and Contra Costa Health Centers of a value in excess of the contract term. This will create a valid obligation on the part of the County, retroactively authorizing all payments made by the Auditor- Controller up to now, and authorizing payment for the services provided.
